What support do I offer?

I have been supporting schools across London for 3 years, improving their computing curriculum and providing CPD to hundreds of teachers. I offer a range of supportive services including:

Consultation

  • Creating a creative and engaging bespoke computing curriculum for your school that links computing skills to wider curriculum subjects, topics and texts. 
  • Discussing solutions for device management in your school. Demonstrating ways to save time and make teachers' lives easier and give them more control over devices in the classes. 
  • Ideas for making the best use of your space at school, specifically computing or media suites.

Staff INSET training

  • I offer a range of exciting after school, half day or full day INSETs to support your staff's needs.
  • The INSETs provide the opportunity to train staff in learning how to deliver a bespoke curriculum that has been created for the school or as identified areas of need within the computing curriculum.
  • Usually, INSETs last between 60 and 90 minutes and there's always a couple of boxes of sweet treats going round the room!

Parent Workshops

  • I offer workshops for parents and carers. These can be in school or presented virtually.
  • Currently, I have one workshop available but am looking into delivering more in the future. 
  • During the Online Safety workshop parents learn useful tips and are shown where to find helpful resources.
  • I cover risks on social media, gaming, viral videos, scams and what the school does when educating children in online safety. 

Google Classroom Package

  • During the Covid-19 pandemic, my school successfully set up, trained staff, children and parents and launched Google Classroom remotely to our families.
  • By June, over 520  out of 650 children had logged on and were submitting work to over 50 members of staff.

He promptly set up a Zoom meeting with his colleague and I was good to go within a couple of days!  James was thorough , patient and very knowledgeable of the practicalities and limitations of setting up a cloud based platform virtually. He was conscious of the impact on whole school teams and most of all, the benefit it would bring to learners who were off site.  As a school, due to the success of the pilot, we have now set up Google Classrooms across all year groups."
