About
App Maker is a neat website-based application which allows students to create an app. The app can then be shared via a QR code that users can scan and then access the app of their phone. It's all online based so nothing will download on to the user's phone. Children can select a theme from the many available on LGfL (The London Grid for Learning) but can't make one from scratch. It gives children experience in app design and storyboarding their pages and they absolutely love it! Be aware that on occasion it can be quite glitchy and crash so it's important to keep saving their work as they create new content. They are also able to create quizzes for their apps. I'm on the look out at the moment for software to replace it that is more reliable but check it out for now.
Where can I access it?

Tutorials & Lesson Ideas
1. Create an app related to a topic you are studying. 2. Create a quiz to test the users on the app's content. 3. Print off the QR code to share the app on an interactive display or in a school newsletter. 4. Share the app through the QR code and publish onto a school blog. 5. Use the app software as inspiration to design your own app (not just for educational purposes). |
